چکیده

The rapid growth in mobile communication users necessitates the development of reliable communication systems that provide higher data rates. Tomeet these requirements, techniques such as multiple input multiple output (MIMO) and orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) have been developed in recent years. Current research activity is focused on developing MIMO-OFDM systems that combine the benefits of both techniques. In addition, for a fast wireless channel environment, the data rate and reliability can be optimized by setting the modulation and coding adaptively according to the channel conditions, as well as by using sub-carrier frequency and power allocation techniques. The overall system performance depends on how accurately the feedback-based system obtains the channel state information and feeds it back to the transmitter without delay. Throughput Improvement of STS-Based MC DS-CDMA System with Variable Spreading Factor

The throughput enhancement of Space-Time Spreading (STS)-based Multicarrier Direct Sequence Code Division Multiple Access (MC DS-CDMA) system is investigated in this paper. Variable Spreading Factor (VSF) is utilized to improve the data throughput of the system. In this contribution, an analytical approach is proposed to compute a new expression for the Bit Error Rate (BER) performance of t...

Speech enhancement based on hidden Markov model using sparse code shrinkage

This paper presents a new hidden Markov model-based (HMM-based) speech enhancement framework based on the independent component analysis (ICA). We propose analytical procedures for training clean speech and noise models by the Baum re-estimation algorithm and present a Maximum a posterior (MAP) estimator based on Laplace-Gaussian (for clean speech and noise respectively) combination in the HMM ...

Throughput Enhancement for Multiband-OFDM UWB System Based on Extensive Preamble Utilization

In this paper, we propose a method to improve the performance of initial channel estimation (CE) for the multiband-OFDM (MB-OFDM) UWB. The performance of the initial CE can be generally improved as increasing the number of the used preamble symbols. The MB-OFDM specification presents two CE symbols per band in preamble format. The performance of CE estimation with two CE symbols may be satisfie...

Performance Analysis of the D-STTD Communication System with AMC Scheme

In this paper, we propose a Double-Space Time Transmit Diversity (D-STTD) communication system with Adaptive Modulation and Coding (AMC) scheme and analyze its performance using simulation experiments. The simulation results show that the probability of selecting a high Modulation and Coding Scheme (MCS) level increased as the Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) improved. Furthermore, the D-STTD commun...
